i would like to take part in this archaeological dig. i think it will be very interesting and fun

    • Phil Thomas:

      Hi Diane

Our dig over Easter (6th – 9th April) consists of a series Test Pits rather than the Henge. The aim of the Easter Dig is to find dating evidence for a part of Norton village we know little about and also to train people who have no previous experience of excavation & to give them some hands on experience before the main Summer Dig on a more sensitive site.

So, ideally you could make a day or so at the Test Pits before the main summer dig – there is no need to attend every day.

Phil Dean is putting together the names for people who are interested in the both the Easter and Summer Digs. Phil will be confirming details of where to meet, start / finish times, what to bring etc a little nearer the time. I have forwarded your email to Phil: philipdean2@btinternet.com

Thank you for showing such positive enthusiasm and I hope you find the world of Archaeology as interesting and fulfilling as we do!

      Regards
      Phil

Hi, I’m currently studying for a BA in history but one of my modules is materials and objects in archaeology. I was hoping to maybe get some practical experience in the field and was wondering if there are any digs coming up in the near future.

    Thanks
