The NCAG is digging another series of Test Pits on the Grange estate on the 15th/16th February in order to find evidence of Roman occupation. During the building of the estate in the 1950's, Roman finds were discovered in Caslon Way. Several households have been approached and some have agreed to us digging small 1.5m square testpits in their gardens. Watch this site for results following this venture.

The BBC 3-Counties Radio ran a Treasure hunt this month, which involved a series of clues intended to take people on a tour around the local area. The programme team contacted us after viewing our website and asked our Secretary Ken Bird for a clue which they could use to involve Norton. The outcome of this was that Chris Hobbs our Chairman was able to tell the interviewer about our community Archaeology group which was broadcast live!!
